So one thing that should be addressed according to some complaints from the past, and I don’t know if the situation has been resolved, or not, maybe it has, maybe not, is whether there will be someone available to unlock the restrooms when the games are played at Alonzo Williams Park, or when there is an organized parade or march, starting from Alonzo Williams Park. Hope the commissioners will address the subject, to see if it has been already resolved, as I don’t know myself, thanks. Please enter your comment! City Council workshops are open to the public, but no public comments will be heard, however no votes will be taken at a workshop. It is a time for the City Council to gather information on the agenda items and advise City staff on the direction that it wishes to take. Here is a preview of the agenda items according to the City’s agenda packet:RecreationA Parks & Recreation Master Plan Public Advisory Committee was established to provide public input in the master plan process, help define goals for Apopka’s recreational amenities and offer recommendations for improving existing facilities and identifying future needs. The 11-member committee met over a five-month period to provide input to staff. This input was used to craft the final recommendations of the Recreation Master Plan. The committee included the following members: Jerome Miller, Chair Christine Bornstein, Eli Rivera, Danyiel Hunter-Yarbrough, Bill Spiegel, Tenita Reid, Justin Gomez, Bryan Richey, Larry Zwieg, Anita Boyd, and Matthew Hutchinson. Committee members and city staff based final recommendations on future park needs based on the City’s adopted level of service of three acres of park/open space per 1,000 residents, policies addressed within the Recreation Element of the Comprehensive Plan, input expressed by residents at the Public Advisory Committee meetings and visioning workshops, as well as the desire to ensure all residents of Apopka have access to recreation amenities.John Land StatueTwo statues of John Land are being prepared for placement on city property. One will be placed in Kit Land Nelson Park and the other will be situated on the front lawn of City Hall. The City Staff asked the statue artist to visit the area for suggestions. One site is in front of the flags directly in front of City Hall and close to Main Street. The other is on the western side of City Hall, but very visible to Main Street. The Staff believes the site on the west side will be easier to work with as the base is formed and poured.COPSThe Apopka Police Department through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) has been awarded a grant for five officer positions under the 2016 COPS Hiring Program (CHP). The central concepts of General Ludwig 2 residential building were born in 2012, when we were making a conventional housing tower 15 stories high, with a pair of penthouses with double height on the top floor. In the course of that previous work we questioned our architecture team why only top-floor apartment could have greater heights or terraces broader than the others floors? Why only the top floor could be special ?Save this picture!Section We decided that we should be able to develop a residential tower for the middle class that will feature spaces as good as penthouses, but for all departments at all levels. In 2013 we start designing two residential buildings on the street General Ludwig, an old and quiet residential street in the municipality of Las Condes, surrounded by residential buildings 15-20 flats that were built during the ’90s.Save this picture!© Pablo Casals-AguirreThe site has 5000m2, but appear bigger because it was  cut for vehicular passage bottom type of cul de sac through the half. The landform allowed us to easily full FAR with two towers with a very small footprint on the first floor, this allowed us to open the door to experiment with the size of the departments (cubic meters) without affecting the garden.Save this picture!Floor PlanWe design apartments of 2 and 3 bedrooms based on a pattern, which was to move the enclosure “living room” 3 meters to the left and then three meters to the right on the top floor without changing the rest of the apartment layout.Save this picture!© Pablo Casals-AguirreThe zig-zag movement on section allowed the living-dining room to generate double heights in all departments to improve the quality of life of all occupants of the building (not just the penthouse). The owners enjoy a wider view, more space and the possibility of building a loft if needed an additional enclosure in the double height.Save this picture!DetailProject gallerySee allShow lessSammakorn House / Archimontage Design Fields SophisticatedSelected ProjectsExhibition: Brooklyn in Process, Work by Marvel ArchitectsExhibitionProject locationAddress:Gral Ludwig 4700, Las Condes, Las Condes, Región Metropolitana, ChileLocation to be used only as a reference.
