first_imgThe Vancouver pilot of a single-engine airplane remains in critical condition this morning after crashing into a hangar Saturday evening at the airport in Aurora, Ore.The pilot has been identified as Kevin R. Carr, 53. Carr also owned the plane, according to public records.Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to the call of the crash at 5:47 p.m. The plane was a 1996 Savage-Cozy experimental aircraft.Aurora Fire Department personnel extricated Carr from the wreckage of the three-seater airplane. He was the sole occupant.A Life Flight helicopter flew him to Oregon Health & Science University hospital in Portland. He was listed in critical condition this morning, a spokeswoman said.Preliminary information indicates that the aircraft struck the roof of a hangar before coming to rest on the airport ramp, east of the runway.
